As you have already noticed, based on the title, this is not the typical industry news wrap-up we publish every week. Instead, I would like to wrap-up the year and have a look at some of the top stories published in 2016 here on the Inventory and Supply Chain Optimization blog. Each article is linked with the last word of the title if you are interested in reading some of the content. From over 50 original content posts, these ten received the most page views over the course of the year. Just looking at the titles of these articles tells a story of what the pain points were for supply chain managers in 2016. As with the past several years, transparency across supply chain operations continues to be a trending topic. Addressing the talent gap was also a priority, and will continue to be a leading theme in 2017. And while cloud solutions are becoming more widely accepted and implemented, the questions of which, and how much of supply chain operations should be migrated into the cloud remains open across many firms.
Another exciting topic we are certain to hear more about in 2017 is the implementation of block chain technology across several logistics functions and industries. In the end, all functions within supply chain management are striving for excellence, as represented by our top title in 2016. If you have tips on achieving excellence in supply chain and logistics operations, we would be happy to have you as a guest author on the blog in 2017. Feel free to reach out on Twitter (@weaver_davidw) or per email (david.weaver@inform-software.com) if you have a topic you would like to share with our readers.
We here at the Inventory and Supply Chain Optimization Blog want to take the opportunity to thank you for your continued support and contributions. We wish you a Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and a successful 2017. Our first original content post will be waiting for you when you return to the office on January 2. See you next year!
