The days are getting shorter, the nights longer (in the northern hemisphere) and Christmas is practically upon us. That can only mean one thing: It’s time for the All Things Supply Chain Awards of 2022!
Our awards ceremony has become a now cherished tradition, and we always use it to take a look back at the blog over the past year. While the ATSC blog scratched the 200k reader mark last year, this year we expect to see the biggest growth we’ve ever had, to nearly 250k readers. So more than 25% growth in readers this year!
A successful year for the blog, a turbulent one for the world’s supply chains. The pandemic is not yet completely over and a war and an accompanying energy crisis, especially in Europe, are burdening the global economy with extremely high inflation rates. And the climate crisis seems to be getting worse with each passing year, resulting in necessary transformations of entire industries. If there is anything positive to take from this for the future, it is probably the fact that the pressure to innovate is constantly increasing and so many new, interesting supply chain stories can be told.
The All Things Supply Chain Awards – Highlights from 2022
After this brief, depressing digression into the world economic situation, now for something more cheerful – this year’s ATSC Awards. And as in every year, the readers have decided the choice. This year, awards will again be presented in three categories: “Most Read Guest Blogger 2022,” “Most Read New Article 2022,” and “Best All-time Performer.” The ranking in the different categories is based on an index, which incorporates the absolute viewer numbers as well as the publishing date, in order to value the performance over time and thus also giving freshly published articles a fair chance of winning.
Here are the winners of 2022:
ATSC Award for most read Guest Blogger 2022 – Mohammed Kafil
- Mohammed Kafil – The 7 Steps in the Strategic Sourcing Process
Supply chains are currently more volatile than ever and the strategic selection of suppliers is therefore taking on a whole new significance. In this article, Mohammed Kafil (who beat out 33 other guest authors) shows step by step what needs to be considered in this process.
- Luke Goodwin – Main Pros and Cons of Using the Milk Run in Logistics
- Javraj Shetty – Port Congestion in the US And Its Effect on Supply Chains
- Claire Jane Ward – The Importance of HR in Supply Chain Management
- Emily Newton – The Best Strategies for Ensuring On-Time Deliveries
ATSC Award for most read New Article 2022 – Emilia Ashton
- Emilia Ashton – The Amazing Supply Chain of McDonalds
I am sure that quite a few readers of the blog have asked themselves in front of the counter of a local restaurant of the fast food corporation how this global supply chain works in such a way that in the end there is always a Big Mac ready in 5 minutes at the latest. Our author Emilia has obviously hit a nerve with this article and has written the most read article in 2020 right off the bat.
- Mohammed Kafil – The 7 Steps in the Strategic Sourcing Process
- Grace Whitfield – Top Supply Chain Influencers you should follow on social media
- Grace Whitfield – Top Supply Chain Fails and what we can learn from them
- Grace Whitfield – The impact of the European energy crisis on supply chains
ATSC Award for Best All-time performer – Emilia Ashton
- Emilia Ashton – The Amazing Supply Chain of McDonalds
Not only was Emilia’s article on McDonalds’ supply chain the most read in 2022, it also cracked the Best All-time Performer metric, which is quite an accomplishment for a new article.
- Luisa Walendy – Amazing Supply Chain of Coca-Cola
- Aaron Smith – Reverse Logistics 101
- Mohammed Kafil – The 7 Steps in the Strategic Sourcing Process
- Emilia Ashton – Squirrelling Away – How panic buying is affecting the supply chain
Thanks to the amazing ATSC team
Mickell Lindsay – for bringing some fresh ideas to the blog as well as being a very close observer of German culture and an excellent sparring partner with regard to the World Cup or international football in general. Those lunch breaks never get boring!
Grace Whitfield – for being a great writer, a very diligent blog manager and the person who makes a difference in a pub quiz competition.
Luisa Walendy – for the many years we have worked together – not only on the blog. I wish her only the best for her further career path. She leaves a legacy of many highly appreciated articles.
Sven Bünemann – for always having a fitting solution for our technical difficulties in no time
Andre Hennes – for quickly solving some search engine issues with the blog which had been bothering me for quite some time
