This is an overlooked area within organizations, and yet there is substantial value to be gained if efforts are made to bridge the gap between silos. One method I have used is to encourage inviting people from each silo into group meetings to offer an informal presentation on goals, revenue plans, and their division’s roadblocks. This has created empathy for the challenges, and innovation to help find solutions as a larger team. It’s an important effort that has produced tangible results.
